Daily Tours - Zadar
Split-Full day
After driving along the coast passing the Dalmatian islands of Hvar and Brac we drive through the town of Omis, once a pirate nest situated at the mouth of the Cetina River and within an hour we are in Split.
The old part of the town is built in and around the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian who had it built in the beginning of the 4th century not far away from his birthplace, the Roman colony of Salona.
During our walk through the old part of the town we will visit the very well preserved Roman cellars and the remains of the Roman culture. We will also pay a visit to one of the oldest cathedrals in the world-the Cathedral of St. Duje. Walking through the narrow streets we will have the chance to see all the most important historical sites in Split.
After the guided tour you can take the opportunity to visit one of Dalmatia’s largest open markets located just next to the Palace. Before departing to Makarska we will take you to the panoramic viewpoint for a last impressive view at Split.
