Split & Trogir – full day

After driving along the coast, passing the Dalmatian islands of Hvar and Brac, we drive through the town of Omis, once a pirate nest situated at the mouth of Cetina River and within an hour we are in Split. The old part of the town is built in and around the Palace of the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the beginning of the 4th century, not far away from his birthplace, the Roman colony of Salona. During the walk through the old part of the town we will visit the very well preserved Roman cellars and the remains of the Roman culture. We will also pay a visit to one of the oldest cathedrals in the world – the Cathedral of St. Duje.

After the guided tour you can take the opportunity to visit one of Dalmatia's largest open markets located just next to the Palace.

Tour will continue with a drive along the coast to ancient town of Trogir. The main attraction in Trogir is the Cathedral of St. Lawrence. This 13th century building is probably the finest example of sacral architecture in Croatia. The local artist Radovan carved the world famous main portal in the 13th century. Actually, the whole town is like an open-air museum so just a stroll through narrow streets will be an unforgettable experience.

Included: transportation, guide, entrance fees.
